Whe life closes a door

In the Sound of Music, Mother Superior says that when God closes a door he opens a window. Recently life has felt like a corridor of closed doors to me. The things I want to do I couldn't.

Does that mean if you can't get through the door, God wants you to jump out a window??

I always figured it was climb IN a window, like breaking-and-entering.

I think of it as the idea that a window lets light and possibility in too... it may not seem as certain as a door, a door is clearly something that lets in and out of your situation, a window might just let you see a new possibility, definitely the window is more work to go through.
