So I lied on Monday when I said that things went well with my "mock thesis defense." Sunday night when I was preparing, Matlab, the "programming language" (yes those are air quotes) that I was supposed to use decided to stop working. Yes thats right. Suddenly I couldn't make pcolor plots nor could I read pcolor figs that I had already made. For those who are lucky enough not to know what I am talking about, a pcolor is a 3-d plot where the 3rd dimension is defined by the color of the pixel. Anyway I desparately needed these plots for my project. So I got up early on Monday morning to get to the lab early and make the plots on my desktop "computer" (air quotes again). And that worked to a fashion.
Well guess what. After three re-installs the matlab stuff still doesn't work. The pc help people thought I might have a virus but I don't. And who knows what is wrong. It doesnt help that this program is the most annoying I have ever used to install. You have to use a license manager because the licenses are served out from our central server. ARRGGGGGHHHH!!!! And the license manager keeps not working.
I am trying one more time.
Cross your fingers.
