I see you
come with a
cautious careful approach,
overconfidence propelling
each swaggering step.
I sit on this bar stool -
modern pedestal.
I drink slowly
savoring each sip,
wondering why
you haven't been
warned, I am
death
To the hearts
of men. Your
time with me
will be final,
fatal. I without
any vile intention will
softly suck your
hopes, your dreams,
your love
through lips guilty of
other crimes
I never want
to harm, but I
only know one way
to love - to consume.
When I draw into
my lungs your
last breath
its sweet succor will
only hold the tsunami
of my tears
a moment.
The others
gone, their memories
a gallery of statues.
I wander past
each one, a
longing behind
my lips. But
I don't want
any more of
them collecting dust.
They clutter me.
Tonight I
wove the serpents
through me.
Their venom
slithering through
my veins, fingers
even eyes.
I only hope
it is enough to paralyze
the heart,
before the
rest of you
is stoned.
I see you
