knitted together
tough as Kevlar
strong enough to bar
the way for love and pain

attached stich by stich together
patches inch by inch form
who she is
what she is
patchwork girl

and you want to go back in time and stop the things that hurt her
you want to rage against the evil and pain she faced
be my guest
but how will you fill
the hole in her breast
from what you want left
out

a thread could break
and she would be lost
who would pick up the pieces
and mend

bad and good times connected
you wouldn’t want to see her dissected
pieces of her lying around with no shape
