Based on a recent post I jump into the trench again to
get ready for the fire I know that will be generated by my statements here, but I feel the need to respond to some of the comments that were generated by a recent post, please read it and the comments attached if you want to know what I am referring to, its the one entitled "the real issues".

patchwork girl

she is made of patches
all sewn up together
a framework
for a person
look closer…

a sunny day at the beach
an A on a test
a ballet recital
soft and downy
touch them to your cheek
they can lull you to sleep
heaven in a frozen moment

the day she let him hurt her
him leaving
grandma’s death
knitted together
tough as Kevlar
strong enough to bar
the way for love and pain

attached stich by stich together
patches inch by inch form
who she is
what she is
patchwork girl

and you want to go back in time and stop the things that hurt her
you want to rage against the evil and pain she faced
be my guest
but how will you fill
the hole in her breast
from what you want left
out

patchwork girl
a thread could break
and she would be lost
who would pick up the pieces
and mend
this patchwork girl

bad and good times connected
you wouldn’t want to see her dissected
pieces of her lying around with no shape

patchwork girl
let go and trust her history
made her to be
who she is
and even though she is pieced together from scrap
she can stand tall
